Gift Ideas For Your Boyfriend's Moms Birthday!

28 Jun, 2019, No comments
Giving the right gift to your boyfriend's mom can make a good impression on her for the future. After all, if you and your boyfriend get married in the future, she will forever be a part of your life as your mother-in-law. Knowing a little about her likes and dislikes is important when coming up with birthday gift ideas for her.

Here's some of the gift you can actually give them:

° Flowers

Flowers are old standby gifts for a reason and they are absolutely well-received. If you know what her favorite flower is, choosing your gift will be easy.

Send your boyfriend's mother a bouquet of her favorite flowers to either her home or work. Select her favorite flowers in her favorite colors and purchase a bold, bright vase to hold them.

° Chocolate Candy

Chocolate Candy are absolutely perfect too. If you know what her favorite brand of chocolates are, then choosing the right chocolate will be very easy.

It is also very important to know if she is allergic to certain food before selecting it as a gift for her. Because, Nigeria parents will not take it likely with you, they might think you want to kill them lol😂😂

° Earrings

If you are going to gift her with a jewelry, keep it simple and a pair of pretty-looking ones will be a good pick. If you decide to go for more extravagant-looking danglers, there is a high chance she might not like them as much. Trust me, Unless you know for sure that she is into those kinds of styles, if not, I don't need to tell you how naija parents can be.

It is better to stick to just a simple, smart-looking studs that she will really like.

° A Clutch

A clutch is also a very thoughtful gift. It is beneficial too as this is where she can store her money while she’s out. Make sure it looks appealing, and is not too big or too small or too flashy or just plain dull—it has to be somewhere in the middle. The best thing to do would be to find out her favorite color and buy a clutch accordingly, just to be on the safer side! Lol 😂

These idea gifts for boyfriends mom are sure to earn you some major points from both your boyfriend and his mom! Through these gift ideas, you are letting her know how much you love her son and her and thanking her for raising such an amazing man. You are also letting him know how much you love him and respect his mom and their relationship.

Good luck in picking the perfect gift!

Here are some great Me Time ideas for inspirations also remember that,  it doesn’t matter how small that time is, make it count.

° Read your favorite book

° Have some sleep! Sometimes it's all you can do and every now and then, I allow myself to take a nap. It feels so good after 20mins

° Take time to catch up with friends, go visit them or you can catch up with them via a phone call, walk or over dinner.

My Current Obsession!

22 Jun, 2019, No comments

How’s it going, everyone?

I wanted to start a new series today where I share with you all some of the things I’m currently obsessed with. These may be ideas, movies, TV show or books.

I just love talking about the things I love, so I decided to do that on a larger scale with all of You.

                          •Wattpad•

If you aren’t familiar with Wattpad, it’s a free community website for book lovers. You can read as many books as you like, get books recommendation from writers.  You can also keep track of what you want to read or what you’ve already read by adding it to your library.

I absolutely love reading, and would read all day, every day if I could, but I sometimes have trouble finding new books to read, cuz there are dozens of books on the website. I usually get a book recommendation, half the time I’d just forget what it was by the time I go to the website.

So now, I have the Wattpad app on my phone, so when I go to the library, I can go on there and see what books I have added on my Reading list . I have found so many good books through the site/app, and I love sharing my reviews as well.

                           â€˘Grown-Ish•

Grown-ish is an American sitcom series and a spin-off of the ABC series Black-ish. If you have watched Black-ish you'd know.

And believe me, its definitely one of my favorite TV show right now.

I didn't recently started watching it, and I'm so obsessed with it

The fact that they release each episode every Wednesday is so ugh, I'm like "why can't it be every day" 😂

SO THERE YOU HAVE IT: THE THINGS I’M ABSOLUTELY OBSESSED WITH RIGHT NOW!

My Passion For Blogging!

19 Jun, 2019, No comments

When I first clicked the publish button on my very first blog post, I was worried about what others might actually think of it, if I would find ways to explain what I had to say clearly enough and if talking about different topics was a wise decision or not.

Starting a blog might not seem like a big life decision in the grand scheme of things but it’s one that’s developed to be something that's life-changing for me.

Before I created my very own first blog, I was always curious as to why people would dedicate hours of every day to creating new contents, what the biggest attraction to blogging was and why it was becoming such a popular hobby and career in many cases for so many people today.

Over the past one year, I’ve been able to learn these things for myself and I now completely understand why so many fall in love with blogging and all the positive aspects that comes hand-in-hand with it.

So, here are some of things I love about blogging

•The creativity For It•

I love being creative with different ideas and and it allows me to express it through blogging. I love thinking of new content ideas to write about. And ways of making topics that are personal to me, interesting and very unique. There aren’t any restrictions to it, when it comes to the amount of content you can create on your blog, how you talk about a specific topic and how creative you can be and that’s one of the things I love the most about being a blogger. And it's definitely fun.

•The People•

When I first started blogging, I didn’t expect to branch out in terms of talking to new people every day, I’ve always been that person who likes staying in her own little world, but when I started following fellow bloggers in my community, reading their blog posts, commenting on their posts and so on, then I realised what an amazing community that coincides with this whole blogging game. My 19-year-old self wouldn’t believe it, but it turns out that through blogging comes the amazing fortune of good friendship. The blogging community is also an incredible one and I love how so many bloggers join forces to encourage, support and motivate each other, it’s amazing to be a part of really.

•The Development skills•

Blogging is not just about the writing, it also entails many other roles, those of which help me to develop new skills, things that I hope I can apply to any career I might have in the future. I am not just blogging just because I'm bored or anything. I blog because it's my passion.

As a blogger, I have to write everyday and blogging is the perfect motivator for that. It allows me to express that passion I have and hopefully helps to improve my writing skills.

•Expressing my passions Through Blogging•

Writing my blog allows me to merge my love for writing with everything else I’m passionate about. From talking about fashion, personal style, lifestyle and spreading positivity.

Blogging allows me to express all those things on one platform. It also allows me to gain an insight into other things I’m interested in such as how bloggers and brands use social media to their advantage, how other people use their platforms to get their voice heard and how so many industries come together to work on amazing projects. There are so many things to learn within the blogosphere and this is a huge part of what motivates me to continue on my journey as a fashion and lifestyle blogger. There’s something incredibly rewarding about having a hobby which merges all your greatest passions.

There are so many things that I love about being a blogger but trust me, we’d be here all day if I were to list all of them. From the amazing opportunities and lessons I have learned from other bloggers, there are so many positives to blogging and there’s an endless list of the things that I’m grateful for.

Juggling all the roles that come alongside being a blogger, studying a degree and trying to face all the other challenges that life throws my way can be challenging at times but despite that, the passion I have for what I do never fades.

The work a blogger does and the time and effort all us bloggers put into our platforms should never be underestimated but neither should our passion.

Even though it can be hard-work sometimes, I wouldn’t swap it for anything after putting much effort in it for a year now, it’s now just a part of who I am and what I do too.

Now it’s your turn, if you’re a blogger, what do you love the most about it? I’d love to hear what makes blogging, or any hobby you have, special to you.

Feel free to comment💚

Self Care Ideas: How To Unwind After A Stressful Day!

17 Jun, 2019, No comments

You know that kind of feeling when you're lying down on your couch after a very busy day, And you are trying to relax — then anxiety suddenly kicks in? Your mind races and mental steam builds in as you dwell on everything in your day that annoyed you mostly and all the things you didn’t get done and now have to do them tomorrow.

That is certainly not relaxing, that’s for sure!

And this matters — a lot â€” because setting the tone for a relaxing evening is essential to a healthy lifestyle. After all, it's crucial for mindfulness and stress management, and it also paves the way for a good night's sleep.

I know you’re probably thinking But how am I actually supposed to get six hours when I have errands to run, work to finish, TV shows to catch up on, and laundry to do? Just how

There are simple things you can incorporate into your nighttime routine that will help you sleep more soundly and perfectly. This way, when morning comes, you're ready for a brand-new day with both a calm mind and a rested body.

As a lifestyle blogger, here are some of the nighttime tips I recommend using to get your body ready for slumber:

Set The Atmosphere For The Evening

Dimming the lights sends your body a signal to wind down and go to bed. So instead of keeping the bright lights on all evening, dim them when you get home and light some candles. Add to the gentle glow by turning on some relaxing music. It will help.

Sip calming tea

Warm beverages soothe the body — and who doesn’t feel cozy while curled up in pajamas with a good book and a hot cup of tea? To really relax before bed, I recommend drinking tea, so as to calm your body.

Make Your Bedroom A Sanctuary

To encourage sticking with your bedtime each night, it's very essential to have a bed that feels so inviting. Soft pillows, warm blankets, and a serene color scheme in your bedroom are well worth the investment you know. Your place of sleep should feel like an oasis. That way you can sleep so peaceful.

Shut Down All Technology Devices

As early as you can, turn off all your electronics devices, including the TV. Make a habit to also shut down all social media at a certain time every night and not start it up again until after you’ve set up your new day in a relaxed way. Your Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Whatsapp can wait.

Lessons Learned In My First Year In College!

16 Jun, 2019, No comments

Attending a college has always been part of my dream and it has also changed me so much; I mean, the life lessons I learn in college really matured me. And I didn't even realize that I was learning because it's not like someone asked me what life lessons I learned in college. I learned the importance of many things, not just the importance of an education. The life lessons I learn in college aren't learned in classrooms, but it was through my college experience.

So below are some of them,

1. Advocating For Myself

This is one of the life lessons I learned in college, but I learned this lesson early in my sophomore year. If I wanted to get anything done, I'd have to advocate for myself. Getting hold of someone was tough. Sometimes, they won't call you to let you know of some things. I learned to walk into their office and be persistent and get things done myself. It was the only way to get things accomplished. At first, it was very frustrating and Stressful to have to constantly chase down people, staying under the hot sun just because you want them to issue you receipt or get your papers signed.  but if you need to get stuffs done, you need to take it into your own hands. That's what I did and It's important to learn to speak up and advocate for what you need and want, or else nothing will happen.

2. Time Management

Time management has been emphasized since the beginning of my college year, but it really is something I learned early on in my college year. Because you know I sleep a lot and I wouldn't want anything or anyone to deprive me of it! So you know, I learned to be waking up early! And having 6:30am class is stressful and I wouldn't want to miss the importance of it. And It's essential to succeeding in school and not turning into a stressed out mess or a sleep-deprived zombie. But time management is also important outside of school. We all need to make time outside of school.

3. Taking Responsibility

When I went away for college, everything was now my responsibility. Feeding myself, doing my laundry, getting my Assignments done and going to sleep at a decent hour, so as to wake up early. They were all my responsibilities.

So in college, I was responsible for my actions too, good or bad. I learned to stay out of people's business ( that's number one in Nigerian Universities) My parents weren't there to do things for me again. I learn to be independent. This was a difficult lesson for me to learn, but one of the most essential.

4. The Importance Of Perseverance

It seems like every time I have Exams, I don't want to study for it. And I'm like 'do I really need this' then I have to constantly remind myself that, I'm a medical student and I have to study. But the power of perseverance is essential to passing the class. Perseverance can be tough sometimes you know, especially when you really hate the class, but deep down, you know that you want to graduate and leave the school. I mean, you all know how Nigerian Universities can be!!!!

5. Good Communication

Good communication skills were also honed during my first year in college. I learned what to say and how to say it, at the right time. ( because if not, you will just hear Gbas Gbos) lol 😂 it's like the definition of the saying, "If you talk anyhow, you go see anyhow" 😂😂

You don't only learn good communication skills through oral presentations in class, but through interacting with other students. The way you communicate can affect your career opportunities and even your relationships.

And the thing is, we're constantly learning and most of the time, we're just unaware of it. I believe the life lessons I listed above are super valuable. Because I know that's how it is in most Nigerian Universities. Do you agree?

Have you learned any of these life lessons from attending college? If so, which ones?

Ideas For A Girl's Night In That Are Actually Fun!

14 Jun, 2019, No comments

Going out and taking shots with the ladies on a Friday night is fun and all, but maybe you’re tired of the same old scene, same old guys, same Saturday hangovers that leave you half-dead in your bed. Maybe you’re not trying to spend your entire paycheck on drinks and Ubers. Maybe your feet are just so sick and freaking tired of high heels. Or maybe you actually want to talk and hear your girlfriends, rather than just the music booming from a club speaker or some guy yelling, â€˜Can I get your number?’ in your ear.

Whatever your reason is for wanting to stay in — just own it. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with a Girls’ Night In; in fact, it amazing.

And here are some fun ways to enjoy each other’s company.

1. Make Dinner Together

Don’t just throw a pizza in, roll the dough and add all the ingredients yourself — a fun way to make things a bit healthier, and give you plenty of time to chat is while you prepare a healthy dinner together.

2. Have A Spa Night

With a sliced cucumbers over the eyes, have a full on nail painting, calming music to relax your body, bubble baths, and face masks. Because sometimes you just need to rejuvenate and restart. Don't you think!?

3. Set Up A Movie Outside

Staying in doesn’t mean being confined to the walls of your apartment. Set up a screen and project a movie against a wall or flat standing surface. Don’t forget the snacks! You will need it.

4. Give Each Other Makeovers

Let’s face it, your girlfriend is probably way better at eyebrows than you, but you kill it by putting together cute outfits. Raid each others closets, do each others hair, and spend the night tweezing eyebrows, trying funky eyeliner colors, and feeling all pretty.

5. Host Your Own Dance Party

Turn your favorite music up loud, grab some drinks, and dance like nobody’s watching (because, well, they’re out and totally not having as much fun as you right now.) Right? Lol

Creative Date Ideas That Are Actually Fun!

13 Jun, 2019, No comments

When you first start dating, a nice meal and a few drinks is all it really takes. But after a while passes and you get more comfortable with each other, it can be fun to add a little “spark" to it.

From the foodie date night ideas that involve eating each course at a different restaurant, to outdoors ideas for nature enthusiasts, I've come up with a list of creative date ideas that cover all the bases. Dive right in, and plan something unexpected for your next date with your partner.

I bet your partner will certainly appreciate the effort.

1. Plan A Picnic

Whether you’re heading to a park or even just your backyard, put down a blanket, get a spread of yummy snacks, a bottle of wine, and you’ve got yourself a lovely, dovey, low-cost date.

2. Head On A Mini Road Trip

Pick a destination about an hour from where you live. it could be anything from a flea market to a restaurant off the beaten path—and just drive way through.

3. Stargazing

It’s a bit of a clichĂŠ, I know that. But it's completely romantic—who could resist a date that involves stargazing?

4. Sing Karaoke Together

While you are on your karaoke date, don’t forget to do a duet. It's perfectly romantic that way.

3. Go Shopping Together

Head to a fashion store, set a budget, and pick out outfits for each other!

5. Eat A Dessert-Only Dinner

Pick a menu. I meant dessert only. Talk about the little things.

So, basically, this is how my idea of a perfect date would be like.

My Idea Of A Perfect Day!

12 Jun, 2019, No comments

Happiness is what I feel is a state of mind and if I am getting up late, I won't have that perfect day! I'd be lazy through out that day😵

Now, there is nothing like perfect. But yes, there is something like ideal. Close to perfect I might say.

So, it got me thinking what would an ideal day – what a close-to-perfect day might be like?

Here’s how I think my “almost perfect” day would be.

Yes, I like sleeping and I like getting up early, so one that begins with coffee in bed! I don’t know who is going to make that coffe but yes, definitely coffee in bed! To start the day😛

Shopping!

Did I just hear myself say 'shopping' 😲 lol, well yes!

I love getting new outfits, well if there's money though😩 I'd probably shop through out the whole day, then get home and start crying, probably because I'm now broke 😂😂

Hangout With Friends!

I love meeting new people. So going over to a friends place, hangout with them, talk about stuffs you know😉 have fun, eat a lot of food😍

I love taking good photos. And I never miss out a day without taking one lol 😂 so taking some great photos and uploading them on my social media page won't be that bad.

I take alot of photos, so if it's not fine, I delete them😉

Who wouldn't want a perfect day with a good food and wine or juice (which ever you want) but I prefer juice😊

Yes, my perfect day always has to end with ice cream! A Strawberry Ice cream to be precised.

Have you ever thought about such a day?

What constitutes your ideal day?

What does your perfect day look like?
